TMP Reiterates Need for More Media Coverage of Migration

The Migrant Project, TMP has called for more media coverage of Migration issues, with the aim of helping Nigerians make important decisions on migration.

The call was made by Tayo Elegbede, Media Lead, TMP, Nigeria during a Media Review Session with journalists across the country.

Elegbede explained that the efforts of TMP can only yield reasonable success if the media complements its efforts by amplifying migration issues.

Explaining the focus of The Migrant Project (TMP), Elegbede said, “it is an awareness-raising campaign focusing on irregular migration in Nigeria.

“The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and fill information gaps to enable Nigerians make informed migration decisions.”

Felicia Ehimanre, Edo Team Lead, TMP also shared how the organization has been making notable impacts in Edo State.

Journalists present at the Media Review Session also commended TMP for its efforts in supporting journalists with resources to cover Migration stories adequately.

The journalists also unanimously agreed that it is imperative for the media to do more on Migration.
