A motorcyclist, popularly called ‘okada’ has kidnapped a 3-year-old boy, Chimaobi Mmuoebonam on his way home from school in Umuekwegu Autonomous Community, Akokwa Ideator, Imo State.

Chimaobi and his elder brother, age 5, were returning from school on Friday, February 12th when the motorcyclist kidnapped him with the intention to give him a ride to the house.

According to Chimaobi’s brother, a man carried Chimaobi on his okada and they left together.

The family has since been curious and trying every possible means to ensure the safe return of the Chimaobi.

Speaking with BONews Service, Chimaobi’s Aunty, Franca Anaedum disclosed that the kidnappers have not requested any ransom and that the family has been in so much distress.

“This has never happened in this community before, and we are so worried that the small boy was kidnapped,” Anaedum added.

She however noted that the case has been reported at the nearest police station but no result has been recorded.

The family also requested the help and support of members of the public to ensure that the boy is returned safe and sound.
