The Federal Government has re-assured Nigerians of its commitment to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic by making vaccines available to every Nigerian.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire made this known while speaking at the symposium on “Vaccines, Treatments And Stemming A Public Health Crisis”, organized by Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism, PTCIJ.

Representing the Minister, Dr. Abdullah Bulama Garba, noted that the Nigerian government is taking necessary measures to protect the lives of every Nigerian, but noted that it is quite pathetic that many Nigerians still do not believe that the virus is real.

Dr. Garba assured the government is taking adequate measures to preserve the vaccines and ensure even distribution to every part of the country.

COVID-19 Coordinator at West Africa Health Organisation (WAHO), Dr. Joshua Obasanya revealed that WAHO is supporting West African Countries by distributing treatment commodity to countries.

He also noted that WAHO is working to put in place uniform measures on travel protocols regarding COVID-19 to make it less expensive for people to travel across ECOWAS countries.
